Month eleven: These feet were made for walking

Madeus at ten months old has the most expressive feet. When he wants food he not only grunts and kneeds his hands but curls his feet back and forth as well. He started this many months ago, this talking with his feet, and now he has made the next step and is walking with them as well. His first steps came at 9 1/2 months in Colorado at Michael's mothers house. Preceding this and since, he only wants to walk. He will army crawl if necessary but that is it, no other crawling. He prefers to have both your hands securely with his and he is off, sometimes almost in a full trot. If you walk him, he will be your best friend and if you stop him or sit him down, he will throw a full out tantrum, complete with kicking of his feet in the air. This has been quite a new challenge for us, this milestone coinciding with a move into a 600 square foot apartment. He pulls up, pulls down, and attempts to lean towards anything that will keep him upright for longer. He even uses his head to press against against furniture or people to help raise him up. Baby proofing and unpacking do not usually go well together. He definitely looks like a drunken sailor but every day he becomes more steady. He can push away from the couch and stand on his own for a few moments now. He laughs in pride every time. He will sometimes walk to you from the couch and back but lately has taken to leaning back too far expecting you to catch him like that trust ice breaker game. In the last week, he has started to walk beside you more holding just one hand. I know it is just a matter of time before he lets go of both and goes running ahead.
